how to use Color Me Natural
Be sure to read all directions before proceeding with patch test, strand test and actual use of product.
Before you Colour....

Patch Test
Even all-natural products can cause sensitivities or allergic reaction in some people. Because allergies can develop suddenly, we recommend you do a patch test before using this product.



Wash a small area of your inner arm and dry thoroughly.






Using a non-metallic bowl and spoon or spatula*, mix one teaspoon of Color Me Natural with a few drops of very warm water and stir well. Add more water a few drops at a time and continue stirring until lumps are dissolved.






Let mixture cool, then using a cotton ball or pad, apply a small amount to clean, one-inch area of your inner arm and allow it to dry on your skin.






cover the patch test area with an adhesive bandage and leave it undisturbed for 90 minutes, then remove bandage and rinse the mixture off completely. Examine area carefully, looking for signs of irritation.






Examine the area again the next day to make sure there is still no irritation.

If redness, itching or irritation occur at any time during this period, do not use product.



*Important: Do not use a metal container or metal utensils when mixing and applying this product. The metal may cause a chemical reaction with the herbs, which could result in colour variations.

Strand Test

The strand test is a recommended part of the colouring process. Because results will vary according to the type and condition of your hair at a given time, it is a good idea to do a strand test before using this product, Some variables that will affect results include the amount of grey in your hair, residue from shampoos, conditioners and styling products, build-up from chlorine and other chemicals, damage from salon or home treatments and the overall health of your hair.

Because colour adheres differently to grey hair, it is important to perform a strand test if you have a lot of grey. Hair that has been permed, previously coloured or chemically altered in any way has a tendency to become damaged, brittle and more porous. As a result, colour will adhere to it differently and will vary from application to application. We recommend you repeat the strand test prior to using this product if your hair has been chemically treated since your last application or if there is significantly more grey since the last time you used it.



Using a non-metallic bowl and spoon or spatula*, mix one teaspoon of Color Me Natural with a few drops of very warm water (distilled is best) and stir well.






Add more water, a few drops at a time, and continue stirring until all lumps are dissolved. Mixture should be slightly runny but not too liquid (roughly the consistency of cake batter).






Separate a thin strand of hair (about 1/2 to one inch in thickness). For more accurate results, we recommend you select two thin strands, one near the temple, where hair tends to be more grey, and one from a normally hidden layer of your hair that may contain less grey.






Put on plastic gloves (enclosed) and apply mixture to strand of hair with fingers, starting at the root. Work mixture well into the hair, from the scalp to the end of the strand.






Wait 90 minutes, then rinse strand(s) thoroughly. Dry hair and examine colour. You can adjust your time according to how light or dark the hair is at this point, reducing the amount of time for a lighter shade, or increasing it for more intense colour.

Colouring Your Hair
While Color Me Natural will not permanently stain your skin and will wash out of many fabrics, it can stain your counter top or table, so be sure to cover work surfaces thoroughly (newspaper or an old, large towel will do). If the color mixture does get on your clothes or other fabrics, remove the item immediately, rinse the spot and apply a stain remover, then wash the item.
Mixing


Heat 1 1/2 cup or more of water (distilled is best) until very warm, but not boiling.








Empty pouch containing powdered color into a large, non-metallic bowl*. Pour one cup of the warmed water a little at a time into the powder, stirring continuously with a non-metallic spoon or spatula* to break up any lumps. It is essential that the mixture be thoroughly blended - any powdery residue will prevent mixture from adhering well to the hair. Gradually add more water as needed, and continue stirring to blend. You will probably use no more than 1 1/4 cups of water. The final mixture should be as smooth as possible and somewhat thick - about the consistency of cake batter but slightly gritty. Don't be concerned about the color of the mixture, which may range from a rich green to a yellowish brown; it will still dye your hair the appropriate colour.

If you plan to use the enclosed applicator bottle, you'll want the mixture a little more liquid. just add an extra teaspoon or two of water and blend well. Then transfer mixture into the applicator bottle, either pouring it carefully or using a small, non-metallic funnel or measuring cup with a spout.


Application
Color Me Natural should be applied to clean, dry hair. Allow mixture to cool somewhat, then put on plastic gloves.



Using a non-metallic comb or brush*, separate hair into small sections, one to two inches wide.

Starting at the crown of the head, in areas where hair is most grey, apply mixture to each section with applicator bottle, a non-metallic paint brush* or with fingers.







Using your gloved fingers, work mixture into each section well, starting at your scalp and working toward ends. Repeat process with each individual section until all your hair has been thoroughly saturated with the mixture. (If mixture thickens during application, add a small amount of water and blend well.)

When all your hair is saturated, use any remaining mixture to touch up areas where hair is predominantly grey. Carefully clean skin around edge of scalp with a wet, warm washcloth or a cotton pad soaked with your favourite Aubrey skin toner, then slip on plastic cap and fit it snugly around your head. After a few minutes, you may feel a slight warming sensation.












Leave mixture on for no less than 90 minuites



After application is complete, leave mixture on for no less than 90 minutes from the time you finished applying it to the hair, and no more than 2 hours, depending on your strand test results. There is no benefit to leaving the mixture on more than 2 hours.

Rinsing


When time is up, rinse hair thoroughly in warm water for several minutes, working mixture out of the hair with your fingers and/or a wide-toothed, non-metallic comb*

how to use Color Me Natural
Be sure to read all directions before proceeding with patch test, strand test and actual use of product.
Before you Colour....

Patch Test
Even all-natural products can cause sensitivities or allergic reaction in some people. Because allergies can develop suddenly, we recommend you do a patch test before using this product.

Wash a small area of your inner arm and dry thoroughly.

Using a non-metallic bowl and spoon or spatula*, mix one teaspoon of Color Me Natural with a few drops of very warm water and stir well. Add more water a few drops at a time and continue stirring until lumps are dissolved.

Let mixture cool, then using a cotton ball or pad, apply a small amount to clean, one-inch area of your inner arm and allow it to dry on your skin.

cover the patch test area with an adhesive bandage and leave it undisturbed for 90 minutes, then remove bandage and rinse the mixture off completely. Examine area carefully, looking for signs of irritation.

Examine the area again the next day to make sure there is still no irritation.

If redness, itching or irritation occur at any time during this period, do not use product.

Strand Test

The strand test is a recommended part of the colouring process. Because results will vary according to the type and condition of your hair at a given time, it is a good idea to do a strand test before using this product, Some variables that will affect results include the amount of grey in your hair, residue from shampoos, conditioners and styling products, build-up from chlorine and other chemicals, damage from salon or home treatments and the overall health of your hair.

Because colour adheres differently to grey hair, it is important to perform a strand test if you have a lot of grey. Hair that has been permed, previously coloured or chemically altered in any way has a tendency to become damaged, brittle and more porous. As a result, colour will adhere to it differently and will vary from application to application. We recommend you repeat the strand test prior to using this product if your hair has been chemically treated since your last application or if there is significantly more grey since the last time you used it.

Using a non-metallic bowl and spoon or spatula*, mix one teaspoon of Color Me Natural with a few drops of very warm water (distilled is best) and stir well.

Add more water, a few drops at a time, and continue stirring until all lumps are dissolved. Mixture should be slightly runny but not too liquid (roughly the consistency of cake batter).

Separate a thin strand of hair (about 1/2 to one inch in thickness). For more accurate results, we recommend you select two thin strands, one near the temple, where hair tends to be more grey, and one from a normally hidden layer of your hair that may contain less grey.

Put on plastic gloves (enclosed) and apply mixture to strand of hair with fingers, starting at the root. Work mixture well into the hair, from the scalp to the end of the strand.

Wait 90 minutes, then rinse strand(s) thoroughly. Dry hair and examine colour. You can adjust your time according to how light or dark the hair is at this point, reducing the amount of time for a lighter shade, or increasing it for more intense colour.

Colouring Your Hair
While Color Me Natural will not permanently stain your skin and will wash out of many fabrics, it can stain your counter top or table, so be sure to cover work surfaces thoroughly (newspaper or an old, large towel will do). If the color mixture does get on your clothes or other fabrics, remove the item immediately, rinse the spot and apply a stain remover, then wash the item.
Mixing
Heat 1 1/2 cup or more of water (distilled is best) until very warm, but not boiling.


Empty pouch containing powdered color into a large, non-metallic bowl*. Pour one cup of the warmed water a little at a time into the powder, stirring continuously with a non-metallic spoon or spatula* to break up any lumps. It is essential that the mixture be thoroughly blended - any powdery residue will prevent mixture from adhering well to the hair. Gradually add more water as needed, and continue stirring to blend. You will probably use no more than 1 1/4 cups of water. The final mixture should be as smooth as possible and somewhat thick - about the consistency of cake batter but slightly gritty. Don't be concerned about the color of the mixture, which may range from a rich green to a yellowish brown; it will still dye your hair the appropriate colour.

If you plan to use the enclosed applicator bottle, you'll want the mixture a little more liquid. just add an extra teaspoon or two of water and blend well. Then transfer mixture into the applicator bottle, either pouring it carefully or using a small, non-metallic funnel or measuring cup with a spout.


Application
Color Me Natural should be applied to clean, dry hair. Allow mixture to cool somewhat, then put on plastic gloves.

Using a non-metallic comb or brush*, separate hair into small sections, one to two inches wide.

Starting at the crown of the head, in areas where hair is most grey, apply mixture to each section with applicator bottle, a non-metallic paint brush* or with fingers.

Using your gloved fingers, work mixture into each section well, starting at your scalp and working toward ends. Repeat process with each individual section until all your hair has been thoroughly saturated with the mixture. (If mixture thickens during application, add a small amount of water and blend well.)

Carefully clean skin around edge of scalp with a wet, warm washcloth or a cotton pad soaked with your favourite Aubrey skin toner, then slip on plastic cap and fit it snugly around your head. After a few minutes, you may feel a slight warming sensation.


Leave mixture on for no less than 90 minuites
After application is complete, leave mixture on for no less than 90 minutes from the time you finished applying it to the hair, and no more than 2 hours, depending on your strand test results. There is no benefit to leaving the mixture on more than 2 hours.

Rinsing
When time is up, rinse hair thoroughly in warm water for several minutes, working mixture out of the hair with your fingers and/or a wide-toothed, non-metallic comb*
